Volcanoes of Cascades Hiking

What to Expect:

Lassen Volcanic National Park is one of the best-kept secrets of the National Park system.  The centerpiece of the park is Lassen Peak, the largest plug dome volcano in the world and the southern-most volcano in the Cascade Range.  But just because we are talking volcanoes, does not mean you can anticipate the landscape.  The variety of the hikes and geologic features is astounding --  from lush forests to boiling lakes, mud pots and fumaroles, to a broad palette of lava-riddled and rocky landscapes; you will be constantly amazed.

For the first three days of the trip we will be exploring the exciting scenery in Lassen while visiting Kings Creek Falls, Bumpass Hell, Paradise Meadows and either Lassen Peak or Brokeoff Mountain.

After our glorious days in Lassen, we head north to another jewel of the US, Crater Lake National Park and the historic Crater Lake Lodge.  Crater Lake is the deepest lake in North America and offers dramatic and unique vistas. For the next day and a half we will explore some of the 90 miles of trails in the Park, enjoying views of the lake and surrounding country,
